NATIONAL NOVENA in honour of St Therese of the Child Jesus

St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus – The Little Flower – Patroness of the Missions. The Icon:  For our 2021 National Novena in honour of St. Thérèse we are using the beautiful icon which was written (icons are written, not painted) by the late Sr Paula Kiersey OCSO and which was used on the cover of our African Missionary Magazine in Autumn 1997. Sr Paula was a nun in the only Cistercian convent in Ireland: St Mary’s Abbey, Glencairn, in Co. Waterford. Before becoming a nun she studied art in Dublin, Paris and Rome and spent more than 30 years writing icons. Sr Paula went home to the Lord on 11th May 2009.

Thursday 23rd of September to Friday 1st of October.
7.30pm each evening (7pm on Saturday)

Each evening the Mass will be live streamed on-line via the Blackrock Rd. Parish Webcam. To make viewing as easy as possible an access button (just like the image on the left) will be put on the top left hand side of the Homepage on this website – just click on this to access the Novena Mass each evening at 7.30pm with the exception of Saturday 25th when the Novena Mass will begin at 7pm.

This year the Novena will be preached by Carmelite priest Fr Vincent O’Hara OCD, Clarendon Street, Dublin.

PRAYER TO ST THERESE
St Therese of the Child Jesus, teach us to follow your Little Way of confidence and trust.

Help us to realise that a Father’s love watches over us each day of our lives.

Obtain for us the light to see in sorrow as in joy, in trials and in peace, the loving hand of our Father.

Give us your faith and trust so that we may walk in  darkness as in light, hold fast to the way of love, knowing as you did that everything is grace.
AMEN
