Support a Priest in Training

056

The Family Vocations Community (FVC) are supporters across Ireland that have agreed to contribute to the education of young priests in formation by making an annual financial donation for a period of eight years.

All members are invited to various events with SMA priests and staff, including an annual mass in September to meet a newly ordained SMA priest from Africa or Asia who represent the recently ordained priests.

You can make a direct donation to the SMA fund at any time.

Donations are used to:

  • Support the upkeep and education of 400 Seminarians training to become SMA Missionary Priests.
  • Provide grants that help to build churches or run parish activities and projects.
  • Support social development, educational and health projects.
  • Support for environmental and care for creation projects.

Each year the SMA run a series of fun days, charity events, conferences and online webinars and Novenas.

The fun days and charity events are designed to be joyful and are open to all.

Our conferences and online webinars are created around justice concerns such as climate change, biodiversity and human trafficking.

Events are spread across the year and will be shared on our website and social media channels – Facebook and X.

Mass Cards and Special Prayers

Mass cards and prayers are one way of remembering family or friends in a prayerful way.
All prayer petitions are placed before the altar in the SMA Community Chapel in each of the various houses and remembered in the daily prayers and Mass of the SMA community.

There are a variety of designs and occasions to choose from, including:
  • With sympathy
  • Get well
  • Prayer for You
  • Happy Birthday
  • Good Luck in your Exams
  • Merry Christmas
  • St Patrick’s Day
  • Happy Easter
Cards can be ordered individually or in packs of ten. To order a mass card, you can visit one of the SMA houses or parishes in person, telephone or email us.
