St Therese Novena 2012

The National Novena in honour of St Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower, was celebrated in St Joseph’s SMA Parish Church, Blackrock Road, Cork and at the African Missions, Dromantine, Newry. It concluded on the Feast of the Patroness of the Missions, 1 October. An increase in the attendance was noted in both venues. To cater with the attendance, Dromantine had two sessions each day – one in the morning and the other in the evening.

Different topics were chosen for each day. Many of these homilies are available by clicking on the following links.

St Thérèse of Lisieux deepened her missionary commitment through her life of contemplative prayer. Most of us are called to live our commitment in the world through witnessing to Christian values in all that we do. But we can call on the intercession of Thérèse to help us in this task. We do that once again this year through our Novena in honour of St Thérèse.

Through her intercession, may God continue to bless and protect you. For all of her short life the work of the missions was special for her. So she has been proclaimed Patroness of the Missions.
