World Refugee Day 2014

“Dear migrants and refugees! Never lose the hope that you too are facing a more secure future, that on your journey you will encounter an outstretched hand, and that you can experience fraternal solidarity and the warmth of friendship! To all of you, and to those who have devoted their lives and their efforts to helping you, I give the assurance of my prayers…” – with these words Pope Francis’s Message for the World Day of Prayer for Refugees & Migrants comes to a close.

Sunday, 19 January, is World Refugee Day, and we invite you to pray for the 45 million people who are displaced throughout the world (UN 2012 figures, the highest figure in more than 20 years).
