SMA Golf competition 2019

The 2019 annual SMA Golf competition brought together 22 SMA enthusiastic golfers. Thanks to the generosity of the Douglas Golf Club, Cork, this two-day competition helps renew acquaintances within the Irish SMA Province – those based in Ireland, and those home on holidays from Kenya and Zambia.

After the intensity of the Provincial Assembly, it was a welcome opportunity to relax and renew friendships.

When all the points were counted, and thanks to a generous handicap, Fr. Tom Casey SMA, home from Zambia, emerged as the overall winner with 77 points; followed by Fr. Kevin O’Gorman SMA, Maynooth University, on 72 points. Fr. Michael O’Leary, PP of St. Joseph’s Blackrock Road, entered the Club House a very close 3rd on 71 points.

Team winners on Day One were Frs. Michael Curtin, Tom Casey and Michael O’Leary (54 points). Team winners on Day Two were Frs. Michael O’Leary, Kevin O’Gorman and Tim Cullinane (49 points ).

For the doubting Thomas’, please see the score sheet below to confirm the authenticity of what the SMA Communications Office is reporting in all good faith.

Should there be any disputes, please refer them to the Irish Golfing Federation.
