Patriarch of Alexandria speaks on Egyptian unrest

There are many different Christian churches in Egypt, the majority of whom are members of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.

Roman Catholics (about 200,000 members) have their own Coptic Catholic Church which is led by the Patriarch of Alexandria, Most Rev Ibrahim Isaac. They are less than 1% of Egypt’s population and, along with other christian churches, are constantly suffering discrimination and persecution for their faith.

As President of the Assembly of the Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops of Egypt he issued the following message.
