Fr. Tom Kearney SMA to feature on RTE’s Nationwide – Monday 22 July 2019

This Monday, the 22nd of July, RTE’s Nationwide programme will feature the work of Fr Tom Kearney SMA. Well known for his interest in nature and gardening, Fr Tom has for the last few years been developing an eco-garden in the SMA grounds in Wilton, Cork.

More recently he has become interested in Aquaponics, a sustainable way of producing both vegetables and fish! This method is used on an industrial and commercial basis in many parts of the world but Fr Tom decided to experiment with the method on a small scale in his poly-tunnel in Wilton.

The SMA Justice Office, with the help of Mr Paul O Flynn, a member of the SMA Communications Committee and former editor of the RTE Nationwide Programme, made a short film about this project.

Tune in to Nationwide on RTE 1 on Monday night at 7pm to see what Fr Tom has done.
