During his years as a missionary in India, Melchior de Marion Brésillac, was sought after to lead various Retreats. One of those was to the missionaries at Pondicherry in 1849. After resigning as Bishop of Coimbatore he returned to France and founded the Society of African Missions (SMA). Many of his writings have been preserved, especially through the efforts of Fr Bernard Favier SMA.
The Postulator for the Cause of the SMA Founder, Fr Bruno Semplicio, regularly gathers together some thoughts of the Founder, with the cooperation of other SMA members. In the attached PDF, Fr Renzo Mandirola shares some thoughts on various Lenten themes: Desert, Favourable Time, Word of God and Mercy.
